Mrs. Shannon Reczek

This is my 16th year teaching Physics and 2nd year teaching Earth Space Science at Plano Senior High. I have also served as the coach of the PSHS Academic Decathlon Team for the past 10 years. I have completed the American Modeling Teacher Association (AMTA) Master Physics Teacher Certification at SMU and I'm currently pursuing the National Board of Professional Teaching Certification. I chose to teach high school science because I love science and want to share my passion with future generations of scientists. I strive to develop students' critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills through guided inquiry-based learning. I consider every student to be a scientist who will discover an understanding of science concepts by performing hands-on experiments, and collaborating with peers. It is my goal to create a classroom environment where students enjoy learning and feel comfortable asking questions.

During our hybrid learning experience, I made many physics tutorial videos. Most of the videos are only accessible to students due to curriculum copyright, but I have a few fun demos posted on my YouTube Channel.
