• Substitute Renewal Information
    Below are the required steps to remain active as a Plano ISD substitute/adult temp:

    Step 1: Online renewal and meeting scheduling (mandatory)

    April 30th – May 11th  Renew online in TEAMS (Substitute Management Center) and schedule your renewal meeting through SignUpGenius.

    The deadline to schedule your renewal meeting is May 11, 2018.  You will receive an automatic confirmation email from SignUpGenius confirming your meeting date and time (the email originates from info@signupgenius.com). You must register using your legal first and last name that the Substitute Office has on file; failure to do so will result in your renewal not being processed.

    *If you are an Adult Temp only, you do not need to schedule a meeting.

    Please note:

    1. You will not be able to search or accept jobs online until you complete the online renewal process.
    2. You will be able to continue to substitute for the remainder of the 2017-2018 school year if you select “No” you will not renew.
    3. If you continue to receive a renewal reminder email, you have not successfully completed the renewal process.
    4. “Please log in to renew your substitute status for the 2018-2019 school year” will be displayed in red on the Substitute Management Center login page until May 11th, even if you have renewed online successfully.

    Step 2: Attend substitute renewal meeting

    May 15th – June 12th Attend scheduled substitute renewal meeting.  Renewal meetings will last approximately 1.5 hours at the below location:

    Administration Building, Board Room
    2700 W 15th Street
    Plano, TX 75075

    Note: The deadline to complete your work requirement of ten full days is June 1, 2018.  If you have not completed ten full days by the deadline, you are not eligible to renew.   


  • 2018 Renewal FAQs

    How many substitutes can attend each meeting?
    Each meeting has space for up to 65 substitutes.

    The SignUpGenius website isn't available!
    The SignUpGenius site will be open and available for meeting registration on April 30th, the same date online renewal begins.

    When are the renewal meetings? I am planning a trip/doctor appointment/other event and need to plan around my meeting date.
    Meetings will be available on May 15th, May 22nd, May 30th - June 1st, June 4th - June 7th, June 11th, and June 12th. Specific time availability will be released on April 30th.

    Why are some of the meetings in SignUpGenius not available?
    Renewal meetings will fill up quickly.  Once a meeting is at capacity, it is no longer available for selection. We encourage you to sign up for a meeting quickly to secure your preferred date/time

    Once I select my renewal meeting, can I change it to a different date/time?
    Yes, provided you make the change prior to May 11, 2018, the dealdline to schedule your renewal meeting.

    What happens if I want to change my meeting date after the deadline?
    You are able to change your meeting date/time up until May 11th using SignUpGenius, pending availability of open spots in the alternative meeting. It is up to you to select a meeting based on your personal scheduling needs. Change requests received after the deadline are not guaranteed accomodation.

    I am currently discussing a full-time teaching assignment for the 2018-2019 school year with a principal/campus employee.  Do I still need to renew and schedule/attend a renewal meeting?
    Yes, we encourage all substitutes to renew and attend their scheduled renewal meeting.  You can resign from substituting when you have completed new hire paperwork for a full-time position.

    What do I need to bring to my meeting?
    You must bring your 2017-2018 substitute badge with you to your meeting. Be prepared to sign in with your employee ID number.  New badges will be distributed at the end of the meeting.  If you do not have your old badge to exchange for your new one, be prepared to pay $10 (cash or check only) in order to receive your new badge.  

    Can the Substitute Office confirm that I am signed up for a renewal meeting?
    SignUpGenius will send you a confirmation email with your assigned date and time once you have successfully signed up for your renewal meeting.  (The email will originate from info@signupgenius.com.)  SignUpGenius will also send you a reminder email 24 hours prior to the start of your meeting.

    If I am working in a single assignment (long term), do I still need to renew and attend a meeting?
    Yes, all substitutes who wish to work in the 2018-2019 school year must renew online and schedule/attend a renewal meeting.   

    I’m working in a substitute assignment on the day of my scheduled meeting. Is that okay?
    It depends. Work with the campus office manager to ensure they can cover your classroom while you attend your renewal meeting.  We strongly advise you schedule your meeting on a date when you are not working.

    What happens if I have an emergency the day of my meeting?
    If something unforeseen occurs, send an email notifying us at substitute@pisd.edu.  Substitute Office personnel will be in back-to-back meetings, so please allow 48-72 hours for a response.

    What if I am running late for my meeting?
    You should make every effort to arrive early and on time.  Doors will close ten minutes after the meeting begins, and late arrivals will not be permitted inside.
