  • 2021-2022 Elementary Transfer Requests

    The elementary transfer request process will begin April 19th at 8:00 AM.

  • At that time, please visit Online Transfer Request to receive an online tracking number.

  • Once you have obtained your online tracking number, you will receive instructions detailing how to submit your transfer request electronically.  The window for you to receive your online tracking number, and submit your request, will close on April 22nd at 5:00 pm. 

    • If you fail to submit your request during the April 19th through April 22nd window, your request will be processed on a first come, first serve basis after the others are processed.

  • 2021-2022 Secondary Transfer Requests

    • Secondary (grades 6-12) transfer requests are now being accepted for the 2021-2022 school year. 
    • The window for accepting transfers with an assigned tracking number has now closed.  
    • All transfer requests submitted at this time will be processed on a first come, first serve basis after the others are processed. 
    • Please allow up to three weeks for a response.

    • We will not be accepting transfer requests from those campuses listed on the No Transfer List.
    • We will continue to accept secondary (6-12) transfer requests through June 15, 2021.

    Due to building instructional programs and functions, enrollment projections, staff assignments, boundary changes, and/or anticipated construction projects we will NOT be approving requests to transfer for the fall semester of the 2021-22 school year TO the following schools:

    • Renner Middle School
    • Williams High School

  • General Information

    Transfers are approved thru June 15 on a first-come first serve basis to available schools and grade levels.

    Transfer limits apply and when limits are reached grade levels and campuses are closed to transfers. 

    Transfers requested from June 15 to the first day of class will be considered for:

    • Children of employees,
    • Children who move during the summer,
    • Children new to the district

    Transfers are considered before school begins and at mid-term. 

    We do not allow transfers from one campus to another during the academic semesters.

    Due to the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, all transfer application fees are being waived at this time

    FALL 2021-2022

    Due to building instructional programs and functions, enrollment projections, staff assignments, boundary changes, and/or anticipated construction projects we will NOT be approving requests to transfer for the fall semester of the 2021-22 school year TO the following schools:

    Middle

    • Renner Middle School

    High

    • Williams High School


    Transfer requests to all other Plano I.S.D. schools will be considered on a space/staff available basis in the particular grade level/classroom. Several grade levels in a building may be closed to transfer students due to staffing and enrollment.

    Due to the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, all transfer application fees are being waived at this time . This list is subject to change as periodic updates and modifications of actual and projected enrollments, building capacities, staff assignments, and attendance boundary changes are confirmed and when limits are approved and campuses must be closed.

  • Can I reverse a transfer?

    Transfers or reversal transfer requests to return to the home campus are not granted during semesters. 

  • How long does a transfer last and can it be revoked?

    Once approved, the transfer continues to be in effect until the student completes the grade levels on that campus. However, approval of a transfer does not guarantee future transfer approval to the next feeder school. You must reapply for a transfer to a new campus.  Younger siblings are not guaranteed approval to the same campus and will be evaluated at the time of their request.

    Transfers may be revoked by the school principal if disciplinary or attendance rules are violated, if there is a lack of academic progress, or if there is a lack of parental cooperation at the new campus. The District does not provide bus transportation for transfer students. Transfer students in grades 9-12 generally forfeit eligibility to participate in varsity athletics for one year from the date of first attending on the new campus.
