Aug. 15, 2019 - National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards
Plano ISD art students competed in the National Scholastic Art and Writing Competition by receiving gold keys in regional competition. Works were judged on the national level by an impressive panel of creative–industry experts. Of the 179 gold key recipients in competition, 58 were from Plano ISD.
National medalists are announced in March and were recognized at a ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Thursday, June 6, 2019. Presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the Scholastic Awards national ceremony celebrated more than 700 student artists and writers from across the country. Four Plano ISD student works of art received gold medals and three received silver.
