Parent Survey: Online Virtual Academy
March 26, 2021
As we consider the 2021-2022 school year, Plano ISD anticipates resuming face-to-face instruction for our students. The School@Home option currently offered in Plano ISD this year has been possible due to temporary waivers and flexibilities afforded to school districts as a result of COVID-19. Without legislative action, these flexibilities will expire at the end of the current school year. We recognize that there may be interest for some in virtual learning options; therefore, Plano ISD parents in all grade levels are invited to complete a survey before April 9 about their interest in full-time online learning opportunities within the district.
The survey seeks input from parents on their interest level and primary reason for interest in a full-time, online virtual academy. Responses are for informational purposes only.
While the district is making no commitments related to offering online programs in the future, the data gathered will assist Plano ISD in planning and decision making. Should changes be made at the state level this spring related to online learning, it’s possible new programming could be introduced as soon as the 2021-22 school year.
