• 2020 Elementary Summer Programs

    Given the current cirumstances related to COVID-19, Plano ISD will offer virtual summer school programs. Parents may wish to speak to their child's teacher or principal in order to determine the appropriate plan for summer study.

  • Bilingual / ESL Pre-K and Kindergarten Virtual Program

    The Bilingual/ESL virtual summer program is for non-English speaking students or for students with limited English proficiencyIn the Pre-K program, instruction will focus on language development, academic and social skills. The Kindergarten program is designed to develop language and to accelerate academic skills in reading, writing and math. Both of these programs are free for students who qualify.

    The program will consist of daily read alouds, literacy support, and opportunities to connect with a teacher in a virtual setting.

    Cost of Program

    There is no cost for qualifying students.

    Dates and Times

    June 15 - July 17

    There will be a schedule provided to support up to 5 hours of learning each day. There will be no learning activities on July 3.

  • Elementary Virtual Summer School (K-5)

    The Elementary Virtual Summer School program is specifically designed for students who need additional academic support. While this summer school opportunity will be offered virtually, there will be interactive lessons and support provided, opportunities to connect with a teacher online, and software platforms that can be used from home to support literacy and math. Students are recommended for this program by their campuses.

    June 29 - July 17

    There will be a schedule provided to support up to 3 hours of learning each day. There will be no learning activities on July 3.

  • Plano Remote Enrichment Program for Summer (Grades 1-7)

    The Plano Remote Enrichment Program for Summer (PREPS) offers a virtual enrichment experience for students in grades 1-7. Students currently in grades 1-4 will choose three courses from a list of options. Each course will require about 2-3 hours per week. Students in grades 5-7 will enroll in a virtual project-based course incorporating strands in science, math, technology, and the humanities. Teachers will provide virtual instruction as students navigate their courses and collaborate with other students. 

    Cost of Program

    There is no charge for this program.

    June 8 - July 1

    There will be a schedule provided to support up to 6-8 hours of learning each week.
