Chemistry is the study of the structure, composition, and behavior of matter. Topics covered in this course will include development of the Periodic Table, atomic theory, atomic bonding, matter in chemical substance and reactions, kinetic molecular theory & ideal gases, behavior of solutions, acids & bases, energy changes, and nuclear chemistry.Chemistry is laboratory–oriented and student investigations emphasize asking questions and identifying problems, gathering and analyzing data, developing and communicating conclusions, and making informed decisions using critical thinking and scientific problem solving. All Chemistry students will conduct research to learn the aspects of the scientific research process.
