PALS (Peer Assistance and Leadership)
PALS (Peer Assistance and Leadership) is a state accredited, curriculum-based program offered at the secondary school level. The mission of the program is to enable young people to use their potential to make a difference in their lives, schools and communities. Students selected to participate as PALS are trained in communication and helping skills that are used to build an atmosphere of caring and understanding, as well as facilitate a safe and positive school experience. Students are given opportunities to work in a variety of roles such as being a positive role model for peers on their own campus and in mentoring/helping roles in the feeder middle schools and elementary schools.
