  • 2024 High/Senior High School Summer Programs

    • Plano ISD's summer learning program offers a variety of high school programs.
    • All program applications can be found online.
    • Parents may wish to talk with their child's counselor to determine the program best suited for summer study.
    • As a reminder, summer school programs are dependent upon staffing and enrollment. 

    Registration:

    • Registration for all programs will open later this Spring.

  • Registration Instructions

    High School Credit Recovery Registration Instructions

    Note: These instructions are specifically for the High School Credit Recovery program.  For all other programs, the registration instructions may be found by clicking on the program and reviewing the program details.

    *Registration is done through the PISD Parent Portal.

    1. Open Google Chrome web browser (this is the only supported browser for registration).
    2. Login to Parent Portal (https://parentportal.pisd.edu)
    3. Go to the Program Enrollment & Payments section
    4. Click the TEAMS PSS Program Enrollment & Payments button.
    5. Click on your student’s name.
    6. Click on the Summer-Night School tab.
    7. Once you are on the Summer-Night School tab, you will see the summer school courses. Since students may be approved for multiple programs, please consult with your child's campus to ensure you register for the correct program. 
    8. After consulting with your child's campus and selecting the appropriate course(s), you will be able to review the Total Tuition Amount(s) and click Continue.
      1. When registering for High School Credit Recovery, the tuition amount will be $100 for each class your student is taking (maximum of 3 classes).  You will be prompted to enter payment information.
    9. Click the Final Review Button. You may be asked to enter a “Mode of Transportation” in that dropbox.
    10. Click the Complete Registration button.

  • High School Virtual Summer School (Credit Recovery)

    High School Virtual Summer School (Credit Recovery)

    Program Description: 

    • The purpose of this program is to provide high school students who are lacking credits with opportunities to accelerate their academic progress. 
    Eligible Students: 
    • Students who need to recover credit to bridge the gap between their current academic standing and where they should be in terms of their graduation cohort.
    NOTE: Students who simply want to advance by taking summer courses need to register with Plano ISD's eSchool Program. For registration and tuition information related to the eSchool program, please visit the eSchool website. Counselors do not pre-approve eSchool courses. Once students register for an eSchool course, a notice is sent to their counselor for approval.  (eSchool enrollment is ongoing and does not have a deadline.)

    Dates: June 3 - June 26 (Monday - Thursday)

    Times: Any live/synchronous learning activities for this program will occur between 8:00 am-12:00 pm. Students may choose to work on asynchronous learning activities on their own schedule outside of these hours.

    **All coursework must be completed by 12:01 pm on June 26 to receive credit.
    Locations: 
    • This program is virtual. Students will be enrolled in online courses.
    Cost: 
    • $100 per semester course*
    *Students eligible for Reduced Lunch will pay $60 per semester course. Students eligible for Free Lunch will pay $40 per semester course. No refunds will be issued after close of business on June 3rd.
    Course Offerings: Will be posted in early spring 2024.
    Registration: 
    • Opens: May 22, 2024
    • Closes: May 31, 2024
    Registration Process:
    1. Counselors first pre-approve courses in the online registration system. Students are encouraged to meet with their Counselors to determine which courses are needed during the summer sessions. 
    2. Once the pre-approval process is complete, parents must complete the registration process through the PISD Parent Portal.

  • High School EOC (End of Course) Program

    High School EOC (End of Course) Program

    Program Description: 

    • The purpose of our EOC Summer Program is to provide targeted instruction for students who did not meet the satisfactory standard on at least one of the EOC exams (English 1, English 2, Algebra 1, Biology, US History).
    Eligible Students: 
    • Students are recommended for this program by their campuses based on their performance on the EOC exams.
    Dates: June 3 -13 (Monday - Thursday)
    • Week 1: June 3 - June 6
      Week 2: June 10 - June 13
    Times: 7:45 am - 12:00 pm 
    Location: Vines High School
    Cost: There is no cost to attend the summer school program.
    Transportation: 
    • Busing is provided from the students’ neighborhood HIGH SCHOOL or SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL campus.
    • Please keep in mind that the neighborhood campus may not be the campus the student attends during the school year. 
    • Summer bus routes will be posted in May.
    Registration: 
    • Students who need to attend will be contacted by their Guidance Counselor and will pre-register. 
    • Students will complete final registration in-person at Vines HS on June 3. If you need assistance, please contact your child's campus.

  • High School ESL Summer Program

    High School ESL Summer Program

    Program Description: 

    • The purpose of this program is to provide ESL students in grades 9-12 with credit recovery and/or acceleration opportunities. 
    Eligible Students: 
    • This program is exclusively for ESL students who need to recover credit or take courses for initial credit to bridge the gap between their current academic standing and where they should be in terms of their graduation cohort.
    NOTE: Students who are not lacking credits and simply want to advance by taking summer courses need to register with Plano ISD's eSchool Program. For registration and tuition information related to the eSchool program, please visit the eSchool website. Counselors do not pre-approve eSchool courses. Once students register for an eSchool course, a notice is sent to their counselor for approval.

    Dates: June 3 - June 26 (Monday - Thursday). Campuses will close June 19 in observance of Juneteenth.

    Times: 7:45 am - 12:00 pm
    Location: Vines High School
    Cost: There is no cost to attend this summer school program.
