Where do you plan to attend college and what do you plan to major in?

I will be attending the University of Pennsylvania as part of the Life Sciences and Management program. I will be pursuing a double major in finance from the Wharton School of Business and biology from the College of Arts and Sciences.

What are your career plans after college?

I hope to work towards a MD/MBA or an MD/MPH.

What school activities/clubs have you been involved in?

I’m the president of our National Honor Society chapter here at Plano East. I’ve also been involved with the LASER club and done science fair for all four years of high school. Finally, I also participate in history fair and Spanish club.

What Plano ISD teacher(s) impacted you the most and how?

I love all my teachers so much, and their kindness and knowledge inspires me everyday! In particular, Mr. Rhett Carter, Ms. Julie Baker, and Ms. Lensey Sardar have all supported me during all four years of my time at Plano East.

In Mr. Carter’s AP European history class and AP U.S. history class, he would teach lessons like a story, and I would never get tired of listening. Through his mentorship in the classroom and as NHS sponsor, I learned to be kind, even in difficult situations.

Ms. Baker was my science fair sponsor and AP Biology teacher. In addition to teaching challenging concepts at school and life-skills on science fair trips, Ms. Baker inspired me to be a confident and fearless person.

Finally, Ms. Sardar was my NHS co-sponsor and my freshman year English teacher. Everytime I speak with her, I learn something new. From the first day I met her, she saw my potential, even before I could..

What is the most interesting school project/assignment you have been involved with?

In my sophomore year AP World History class, we had to make a film combining the aspects of a Greek epic and an ancient civilization. Three of my friends and I had so much fun filming our epic centered around Hammurabi, a Babylonian warrior.

What is your favorite school memory?

In my freshman year I went to Phoenix, Arizona on a school trip for the International Science and Engineering fair. I had an absolutely phenomenal time presenting my project to judges with my partner and meeting many other students and scientists from across the world.

What advice do you have for future high school graduates?

Try your best and be confident. Although there is no substitute for hard work, having faith in yourself and your abilities helps propel you to greater heights. Realize that you have the capability to do anything you want, so make it your goal to always give 110% to the things you care about. When you finally understand that your actions are the catalyst for your experiences, you will achieve your full potential.

What have you learned about yourself during this historic senior year that you will apply to your future?

Making memories with people who I care about, like friends, family, and teachers, is so important. With this year being back in person, I realized how much I missed seeing my friends face-to-face and asking my teachers questions whenever I wanted. I will always remember to be thankful for the ability to constantly build relationships and create memories.
