  • Brighten A Birthday

    Purpose:

Brighten a Birthday is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making birthdays special for foster children in our community. Inspired by the concept of angel trees, I’m planning on bringing this idea to Plano East by creating a unique display featuring a wooden panther—our school’s mascot—decorated and set up in the cafeteria. The panther will hold tickets with information about foster kids, including their birthday wishes, and interests. Students can select a ticket, research, and purchase a gift tailored to their child’s preferences. Once the gift is donated and we receive it people in our club will wrap and decorate it, ensuring each child receives a personalized and memorable birthday present. Students can also gain volunteering hours for this.
