Ms. Deana M. Reed
Greetings,
I love teaching at Plano East.
Originally from Eugene, Oregon, I was a clinical rotations and HOSA - Health Occupation Students of America - student in high school. Obtaining my Certified Nurse Aid through that school program opened many doors for me. It seems only right to have come full circle.
This is my fith year as an embedded faculty with Plano East and Collin College in the Health Science Academy (HSA).
This year I will be teaching Certified Nurse Aid, Administrative Procedures, Medical Law, and Professionalism 101 for Collin College in the HSA.
I also teach two Bio-Medical Science classes for the HSA. Along with teaching, I assist in sponsoring both the HSA club and the HOSA program.
I am a Registered Nurse (39yrs) with an Associates Degree in Science in Nursing from Lane County Community College (OR.), a Bachelors Degree in Science in Nursing from UTA and a Masters Degree in Nursing Education from WGU. My clinical experience is in mother-baby care. I worked in Labor and Delivery, NICU, Newborn Nursery and in the Education department in hospitals both in Tennessee and Texas.
My two sons are grown. One lives here in North Texas and one in Portland, Oregon. I could not be more proud of them both. My time is spent traveling, rehabbing houses and enjoying time with my boys.
I taught Clinical Rotations at PESH from 2000-2007 and I am glad my path has lead me back to East.
