Brian Grunkowski "Mr. G" is beginning his 25th year in education here at Plano East Senior High as the Theatre Director.  He has directed over 50 shows in his career, including musicals, full length plays, and one act plays.  Some of his favorites include: Rabbit Hole, Chicago, Legally Blonde, The Marriage of Bette and Boo, Blood Wedding, Machinal, A Monster Calls, and The Importance of Being Earnest.  His musical productions have had success in the DSM High School Musical Theatre Awards, having been nominated for Best Choreography six times (winning in 2017).  His UIL one act plays have also enjoyed success making it to UIL Regionals six times (four times being named Alternate to State) and UIL State in 2007 with David's Mother.  He served as Technical Director at Plano East for three years and is now beginning his 7th year as Artistic Director. 

Mr. G has a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Theatre Pedagogy. He is currently attending the University of Idaho in pursuit of his MFA in Theatre Pedagogy. Before becoming a theatre teacher, Mr. G was an elementary teacher teaching fourth and fifth grades.  When not working at PESH Theatre, he enjoys his number one job- being a dad to his 13 year old, Jaxson.
