Hello there; my name is Chef Steven Pilat, and I am the Culinary Arts instructor at Plano East Sr High for the past 4 years. I am excited to be teaching at a high school after teaching almost 20 years at a college level at the Art Institute of Dallas. My 44 years of hospitality industry experience has provided me with a vast wealth of knowledge and understanding of today's food-service needs. As a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, with an Associate degree in Culinary Arts and a Bachelor’s of Science in Hospitality and Catering Management, I believe my students will receive the level of education necessary to succeed in the Hospitality world! My spare time is used up by my family of 2 beautiful girls ages 17 and 22 and a 14-year-old boy that keeps me on my toes! I have been married for 16 years to a wonderful woman who can put up with me! My hobbies include cooking, of course, golf, woodworking and looking after 5 Dachshunds and 2 cats.
