Degrees and Certifications:

Dr. LaRell Bissett

I teach International Baccalaureate English IV & Honors English IV.  I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, a Master of Arts degree in English, & a Ph.D. in Humanities with emphasis on literary studies.  I have taught all levels of English classes ranging from high school to juniors in college.  The best part about teaching is the students!  I prefer teaching seniors & enjoy watching their minds grow.  In IB English IV students learn to write commentary (analysis) of both unseen passages & familiar texts, to focus on critical thinking skills, to read & analyze literary texts, and to deliver formal oral presentations.  Students in Honors English learn to review & proofread for grammatical errors, to read closely, both novels & short pieces, to think critically, to develop analytical essays, & to speak in front of the class to share ideas.

Students may attend tutorials any morning from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. except Thursdays or during A lunc
