Plano East permits the use of electronic devices in non-instructional areas during academic hours. Electronic devices may be used in the classroom, library, and other instructional areas at teacher/staff direction when instructionally appropriate. Teachers are authorized to prohibit the use of cell phones or other electronic devices in their classroom. Teachers are permitted to tell students to put away cell phones or other electronic devices upon entering their classroom. Students that violate these rules may have their electronic devices collected by the teacher, administrator, or Plano East Staff.
