AchievementsExemplary rating under the Texas AEIS accountability system 2007-09 school years. Band awards include: Symphonic band – Division 1 at Murchison Festival; sweepstakes for Concert 1 at UIL; Division 1 for Concert 2 at Sandy Lake Festival and Division 1 for Beginning Band at Sandy Lake Festival. Choir awards included: excellent rating for Tenor/Bass choir and superior rating for Treble Choir. Orchestra awards included: superior rating for the Advanced Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra in the UIL contests.

Parent Involvement OpportunitiesThe Hendrick Parent / Teacher Association (PTA) supports campus programs and coordinates volunteer opportunites. PTA also sells school supplies and PE uniforms, volunteers throughout the school, grants "wishes" for the teachers, and serves on committees to support the school. Parents and community members are active participants in the School Based Improvement Committee (SBIC) who set goals for the school year and work to achieve those goals.
Community/Business PartnershipsHendrick maintains a local partnership with several local businesses.
Hendrick honors former PISD Superintendent Dr. H. Wayne Hendrick, a Collin County natuve who held that position 1961-91. After serving in World War II, Hendrick attended North Texas State University, earning his B.S., M.S., and Ed. D. there. Under his guidance as a Superintendent, the Plano school population grew from 1,335 students to more than 28,000.
