  • History of Hughston

    Portrait of Mr. Hughston.

    Hughston bears the name of Thomas Finley Hughston (1842-1935). Born in Alabama, he came to Collin County after serving four years in the Civil War. A farmer, Hughston also served on the Plano city council (1908-14) and was a commissioner and deputy tax collector for Collin County.

    Hughston Elementary was opened in 1975 and was renovated in 1997.
