  • History of Robinson

Portait of Mr. Robinson. Robinson is named after farmer John Wesley Robinson (1876-1963), who moved to Collin County in 1896. He worked as a ranch hand and deputy sheriff, and farmed around the area before settling northwest of town in 1925.

His second wife taught in the Hebron school, and Robinson himself was a trustee of the Lebanon school for many years. Two of his descendants, Leland Robinson and Rebecca Morris, have each served as president of the Plano School Board.

Robinson Middle School opened in 1994.
