• HomeSchool Student Testing – PSAT/AP Tests

  • In accordance with TEC Sec. 29.916 and Plano ISD School Board Policy EK (Legal), Plano ISD will administer the following College Board tests, PSAT/NMSQT and Advanced Placement (AP) tests to HomeSchool students who reside within the PISD attendance boundaries.

    Registration

To register for either the PSAT/NMSQT or AP tests, each student will need to complete and submit a registration form with the required payment to the Plano ISD Assessment and Accountability office by the registration deadline. Late registrations received after the deadline will not be accepted. The registration form will include specific information for each test such as; registration fees, cancellation and refund policies, pre-administration session information, testing location information and general test day information and reminders.

    Cancellation and Refund Policy

Detailed information regarding the cancellation and refund policy for each test is located on the PISD HomeSchool Student Registration Forms. Please review the information carefully.

    Social Security Number

Some colleges and universities use Social Security numbers as student identifiers when assigning or tracking scores. While the College Board does not require you to provide your Social Security number, you may want to check with the college or university where you are sending scores to see if they prefer for you to provide a Social Security number. Students do not need to bring the actual card with them on testing day; however they CANNOT guess at the number.

Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD)

Students who show that their disabilities affect participation in a College Board exam are eligible to take those exams with accommodations. All accommodations must be approved by the College Board’s Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD). For further information on the SSD approval process, required documentation and submission process, please visit the College Board SSD webpage. Students who have been approved by the College Board for testing accommodations will need to include a copy of the Eligibility Letter from the College Board that includes a 10-digit SSD number.

    Pre-Administration Session

Prior to the administration of the PSAT/NMSQT or AP test, students will need to participate in a Pre-Administration session. Further information about the Pre-Administration session date and time is available on the registration form and in the confirmation letter each student will receive after he/she is registered.

    Scores

Students will need to create or login to their existing collegeboard.org Student Account to access their PSAT or AP score report(s). College Board will release scores online. Plano ISD will mail PSAT test booklets to students after scores are released.
