This year marks my 40th year teaching English/Language Arts, and my 18th year teaching Creative Writing. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Savannah State College, now University. I have taken numerous workshops/classes in writing, including Establishing the Environment for Writing, Hook and Loop Approach to Writing, Writing with Panache, A Writing Program that Works, Coastal Georgia Writing Project, and the Plano Writing Institute.
I believe all students can become good writers with practice and willingness not to give up. My hope this year is to have conversations about literature from across all genres to encourage my students to think critically about reading and have meaningful, thoughtful conversations.
