• Bus Stop Protocol for Drop-Off

Gen Ed Bus Badge Protocol Information Video in English and Spanish.

Parents play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of students at the school bus stop, particularly when it comes to monitoring and supervising their children as they are released from the bus. Plano ISD practices a Bus Badge Protocol. The purpose of this protocol is to provide the safest bus drop-off for our pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and 1st grade students. This practice requires the parent/guardian/designee to have their parent placard that matches the bus badge on the student's backpack. This provides reassurance for parents that our students are matched with their guardian at the bus stop daily.

    Bus Badge Protocol

Transportation services is providing color-coded bus badges and corresponding color-coded bus placards for bus pick-up for all pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and 1st grade students attending elementary and ECS campuses who are eligible to ride gen ed buses.

      • Student’s name
      • Grade
      • Campus

    • The badges are placed inside plastic badge holders along with color-coded zip ties and will be delivered to the campus office manager to deliver to classroom teachers.
    • The teachers will ensure the bus badges are zip tied to the student’s backpack for easy access for the driver.
    • The parent/guardian/designee must have the corresponding color-coded bus placard for pickup daily.
