    Meeting Welcome

    The meeting opened at 6:00pm with a welcome by Plano ISD Superintendent Dr. Theresa Williams who took us through the history of Plano ISD and how we will innovate to take our district into the future.

    Dr. Williams then introduced Board of Trustees President Nancy Humphrey. President Humphrey thanked the committee for the work they will begin and commented on how important this work is to the future of the Plano ISD and the community.

    Meeting Facilitators

    Dr. Ken Helvey and Sheri Sides from N2Learning were then introduced to the committee as the group facilitators.  

    Dr. Helvey then reviewed the following agenda with the committee:

    Dr. Helvey informed the group that the first meeting was designed for the committee members to get to know one another and to review the guiding principles, norms and and charge of the committee.

    Presentation

    Dr. Helvey then introduced Deputy Superintendent of Business and Employee Services, Johnny Hill.  Mr. Hill laid the groundwork for the committee work, and reviewed the following:

    • A Strategic Roadmap was done for our district in May of 2023 with recommendations to improve operational inefficiencies.  
    • Reviewed Pillar 5 with the group, which includes: “Develop and implement plans to efficiently use district facilities that will provide expanded opportunities for students”
    • Noted that this is an opportunity to shape our district for years to come.
    • Reviewed projections and growth inhibitors of our district.

    The meeting was then opened to individual table discussions and questions from the group.

    Next Steps

    The committee was instructed to use the QR codes that were given to them to ask any additional questions should they arise, and these questions will be answered/ reviewed at the next meeting.
