Digital Learning Specialist

• 💻I am thrilled to be a part of the Digital Learning Team! As part of the DLT, I support the curricular areas of Advanced Academics/PACE, Fine Arts, Robotics, ROTC, and K-12 Science.  My favorite aspect of my job is supporting and building connections with the amazing teachers across our district.
• 👒I joined the Plano ISD family full-time in 2002, but I have been a part of PISD as a student, volunteer, PTA parent, and substitute teacher. My teaching experience includes serving as an elementary classroom teacher, ESL teacher, Math Specialist, and campus Instructional Coach. I have worked with students in Pre-K-5 classrooms as well as with teachers and staff to encourage future-ready teaching practices. My passion lies in the conviction that fostering creativity, critical thinking, and innovative practices help prepare students for success.
• 🧪I have been an active advocate of educational technology and STEM education. One of my favorite endeavors has been co-founding Gadget Girls, an engineering initiative raising interest in STEM disciplines for girls in Grades 3-5. I’ve been honored to present at TCEA, CAST, and ISTE conferences; and to be an alum of the ISTE Verizon Mobile Learning Academy, NASA LiftOff Teacher Institute, and PITSCO Teacher Advisory Group (TAG).  
• 🎈On a personal note, I live in Plano with my husband, and we have three grown children and three grandchildren. My interests include traveling, hiking, biking, cooking, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family.
